This is one of my favorite patterns for baby blanket.
It is very simple and cute, I love shells!

Baby blanket is made of simple chains, single and double crochet so it’s perfect for beginners. It works up easy, quickly and is fun to crochet!
This pattern is perfect for new mothers, moms-to-be, grandmothers and aunts.

This shell stitch blanket looks great with an ombre yarn – it will change colors while you crochet.

You can make it of any desired size to cover baby car seat or stroller and it is very convenient to nursing mothers as a cover.
It’s a nice addition as a photography prop for the baby’s very first photo session.
This blanket is a great gift for a new mom-to-be or a perfect option for a baby-shower present.

Pattern is written in English using American crochet terminology.

Supplies you will need:
- Worsted weight yarn / Baby yarn (weight 3-4, Medium) - ombre or solid colors.
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5 mm).

If you use other yarn I’d recommend to have a 1 mm larger size hook than suggested by yarn manufacturer to make crochet easier and blanket softer.

Gauge:

In this 20’’ x 20’’ sample we used 130gr/4.5oz of medium acrylic/cotton yarn.
For larger blanket size use proportional amount of yarn, e.g. for 30’’ x 30’’ blanket use about 300gr/10.5oz of medium yarn.
